Overweight Baggage Dodger

Overweight baggage fees are always a bother, an unnecessary and costly one for frequent travelers,

and to think just a few kilograms or maybe grams even, could result in quite an exorbitant fee.

But having the Digital Luggage Scale, solves that problem quite easily as it's light to carry around with you as carry-on luggage, so the weight won't matter that much while allowing you to accurately measure the weights of your souvenir before checking them in carelessly and end up paying the overweight fine. There are times as well at the airport when you check in your bags you realize that you've exceeded the weight limit and the attendant is kind enough to allow you to lighten it but then you're caught in a dilemma that you have to sacrifice one thing to save another, for people buying gifts from overseas, this is probably a painful decision to make, but having this portable luggage scale, all those problems won't ever affect you ever again!

Fast Towel?

Hi guys, what do you think the most refreshing thing to do after work everyday is?

For me its,

Taking a Shower

It's one of the things that we do everyday almost unconsciously, but each time we take a shower, it never fails to freshen us up, but as good as it all sounds, there is usually always one inconvenience to it, which is usually having wet hair for too long, and even after i dry it thoroughly with my towel, it's never really dry and it's still kind of dripping all over the place, but ever since the release of the "Microfiber Fast Drying Towel" that problem's just become a thing of the past.

It comes with the tagline of "Safe & Fast" which makes people think , why safe? Because using a hair dryer actually damages your hair and if you choose the alternative and let it remain wet or damp for too long, your hair becomes damaged as well, so because it dries 20% faster than normal towels and it comes with a sewn in button to help you tie it into a bundle easily (No lessons needed friends)! This also means that if you come home late one day and you want to take a shower and sleep after that but your wet hair's preventing you from doing so is no longer an issue because of how fast this actually dries your hair

Underwater Spectacles

Do you wear Spectacles?

Well, i do, and frankly i believe that being myopic has restricted me a from a great number of sports, those being things like Mixed Martial Arts and Swimming, there's probably a lot more than what I've stated but personally I've felt that these two are the most compromised. About Mixed Martial Arts, i'm just saying that when you watch TV and turn on maybe UFC or WWE, what are the chances you see a bespectacled fighter? Of course i'm not saying that they don't exist, but it could almost become a handicap in these situations, and for swimming especially, be it for leisure or serious competition, it's just been kind of a, well, dead weight.

I was myopic at the age of 8 and have been bespectacled ever since then and that was around the year 2002, where things like smartphones were non-existent and outdoor activities were more "in", it was a time where people would meet up astronomically more than they do now, seeing that now text messages and online messaging seem to reduce human contact, and playing with water was supposedly at the epitome of these activities as the crème de la crème.

And for me, well, i was left out on a lot of water activities because of my myopia, and even when i tried to overcome that and just went into the water with goggles, it was difficult because i couldn't see anything underwater, and even when my friends were playing games above water like "water monkey" , it was hard to actually see and pass the ball because it was all blurred, and sometimes because of that i would accidentally pass the ball to the monkey because i couldn't distinguish face without my spectacles and it would be the start of a terrible time....

Unless of course, we're living in bikini bottom,
or we live in the world of magic like Harry Potter,
Putting on spectacles underwater and to accurately see in them is going to be hard, really hard..

Speaking from experience, I've tried it, and it ended up in a costly failure.
In short, i tried swimming underwater with my glasses on because i was tired of not being able to see underwater and just blindly going in random directions, so i tried it that way and well, one of the two lenses attached fell out..

It . Literally .  Fell . Out.

I was left with one intact lens when i resurfaced, and of course at first i didn't notice.
Sure, my vision was blur but i thought that was like a side-effect of staying in the water too long or some of the water got into my eyes or something until sometime passed and minutes later a friend affirmed my fears by pointing it out to me.
I tried looking for the lenses, but it was already a lost cause, i was trying to find transparent lenses in a public pool, can you imagine the magnitude of the task? It was far worse than a needle in a haystack because at least needles and haystacks were different colors but the lenses and the pool just blended together like they were conspiring against me.

Of course it didn't work as a single lens..

or even as a monocle (LOL)..

Oh well.

Then i gave up in time and i had to pay a hefty sum to get them replaced and ever since then I've never tried swimming ever again.

But then recently I've come across swimming goggles with DEGREES, which is kind of like a beacon of hope to someone myopic as me, although it may be a little bit too late,
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER RIGHT?
So these swimming goggles come in different degrees, ranging from 200 - 600 for both eyes, while it is true that people may have different degrees for both left and right eyes, the differential usually isn't that much and you can see clearly maybe +/- 30 degrees or so, of course you could just take another alternative and just get them made, but that would be really, really expensive because you're going to custom make your own swim goggles with degrees, and it's not like you use it every day like spectacles, so why go through all that expense when you can just buy the swim goggles with degrees closet to yours?
It looks inconspicuous, just like any other goggles but of course it's utility in catering for myopic people surpasses that of just "any other goggles" ;D

Well hopefully this recommendation helps some of you with the problem of not being able to see underwater because of myopia and that now you can swim with your friends and family and still being able to distinguish who from who!

Well Thanks For Reading!

The Mushroom Protector

Have you ever heard of the stories of the "Silent Heroes"?

Well, if you haven't an example would be something like...
Err..

Your very own school janitor!

They've always been there, greeting you with (warm) smiles every morning when they see your faces everyday, they clean the tables and chairs in your classroom and canteens so you don't get sick from the bacteria, they mop the floors and put up accurate signs because they fear you'll fall, refill the toilet papers in the washrooms so you'll never get caught in an awkward situation.(LOL)  And day in day out, most people aren't aware of this and they just let their contributions fade like whispers in the wind, indifferently.

And no one even knows what their efforts contribute to even when they're aware of the things they do, and they're okay with that, they don't seek fame or recognition, they help people but they don't wear a cape like superman, quietly, but surely..

But don't think that only janitors are the silent heroes in our day-to-day lives,i believe for each and every one of you, there's already a few.

You just have to look!

Which brings me to my this new thingamajig that i just found which is this mushroom-looking-death-machine!

I coined it a "death-machine" but its really only to mosquitoes! Which quite frankly has been becoming quite an issue where i live. By the way in case you readers didn't know i'm Singaporean and i live on the eastern side of the island, and in recent days the mosquitoes there have been just breeding like crazy, it's like their birth rate shot up 10000 times or something, and when that happens, it actually becomes a very real and dangerous problem for people.

Solely because of one thing.

DENGUE FEVER

Dengue fever is, well a disease that's mosquito-borne, in English, that just means that it's a disease that mosquitoes carry and they infect people through their sting, now of course i'm not saying every mosquito that stings carries it, but neither am i saying the chances of say 1/10 mosquitoes is rare, and when mosquitoes breed by the thousands, getting stung 10 times is not an understatement, i'm sure many of you have gotten stung by mosquitoes as well and sometimes the fear of thinking,

"WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY MOSQUITO BITES? AM I GOING TO GET DENGUE?

MOM, DO I HAVE A FEVER? I JUST GOT MANY BITES BY MOSQUITOES I NEED TO DO A BLOOD TEST ASAP"

The risk is very real and admittedly i have been through it too, and you never really know if you've been infected until you do a blood test which is if you guys didn't know, an injection that draws blood from you through a needle.

If you don't like injections, this is going to be a nightmare, believe me, I've been through countless (Blood tests).
And it's just so hard from our side, being all amateur-and-no-doctor at all to tell a normal fever, should we "coincidentally" get one, and the real dengue fever because dengue fever usually persists a week longer than the normal fever even though you've taken the standard medicine and it takes days for it to mutate or to show signs that it is truly dengue and not just another fever, but sometimes you can't actually gauge these things and you might not know when to take your child/loved ones to the doctor and you think that it's just a normal, stronger fever and completely ignore it when it's a far deadlier illness.
So what i'm trying to say from that is, not knowing is really scary..

But, as people always said and still do,

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

Of course there are many ways to go about it, for example insect repellent. You could just unload a barrage of vapor when you sight a mosquito but the smell from insect repellents are actually really, really hazardous when prolonged, like after an hour or so and you're still sniffing it, or when you're sleeping and the smell persists and you're inhaling it the entire time you're asleep, that has some serious repercussions on your health, and i mean really, really serious.
Well i'm not talking about ALL brands of insect repellent, i'm just saying the standard ones that households use more commonly like baygon ( that's the one i'm using), there do exists repellents that are more green and safe to use/inhale ( still not for prolonged periods) that may cost significantly more, and in the long term the costs stack up to quite a sum i believe, and when it almost looks like the price of health is almost too much to maintain, i present to you....
THE MUSHROOOOOOOOOOOOOM

This nifty thing, while designed to be child-friendly, is actually a merciless mosquito killer, it doubles up as a night lamp and by using attractive LED lights when your bedroom lights are off, attracts mosquitoes toward it, and then...

THE ROTATING FANS OF DEATH HIDDEN BENEATH THE CAP OBLITERATES THE EVIL MOSQUITOES AND KEEPS YOU SAFE!

The lighting doesn't consume much battery as well and can last up to 3000 hours ( Yeah, Seriously!), and the base of the mushroom is easy to remove for cleaning as well, and i think the best part is that it blends in well with any table or decoration, but it's always your family's stalwart guardian, forever protecting them from the shadows...silently... in all it's... blooming halo?

Just like...

BATMAN?!

Well i was going to say Silent Heroes...  that'd actually make more sense but..
HE'S BATMAN.

Thanks for Reading!

The Travelling Flame

A long, long time ago, in a time where dragons ruled the earth, and their monarch asked a question of her minions,

"How do we make ourselves look deadlier to the mortals?"

Her underlings were confused and in their disarray, they replied,
" But we already breathe fire and have pointy claws!"

The monarch sighed, her army that has survived through countless battles could not even come up with a way to look more menacing despite the supposed wisdom that came with (their) longevity

But then the court jester went up to the monarch and said nonchalantly,

"What if we fart fire?"
And poof!

The lighter was invented.

Well, that's not exactly how the lighter was invented, but it is a different way of imagining it. Just imagine that you were carrying the living legacy of dragons eons past and it's no more than a fart! Well anyway on to the topic, some of you might think the title "Travelling Flame" seems strange for a lighter, but truth is none to most of the lighters we carry, never actually travel, because of the gas "snicker" in the lighters we're unable to bring it aboard planes, and even might even end up paying a hefty fine if we were caught with it, and the only solution would be to throw away the lighter and buy another at the airport or destination.

That's inconvenient.. and costly!

But recently i've come across this new, revolutionary lighter that solves that problem! It's actually a USB Lighter that's not only slim and sleek, but it's also smaller than your normal lighter! This light is electricity-powered, charges by USB, and looks like a thumb drive, but sadly isn't, but good for us, it's masqueraded as one!
See? Wow those ninjas really outdid themselves this time eh? You can't even tell the difference between this and a normal thumb drive.
But do not be fooled dear readers, for this is a true blue lighter!

Not to mention it's windproof?! That's just unbelievable!

Except, well , it... isn't.. :D

This lighter is truly the epitome of daylight smuggling where you can finally bring in your own lighter into airports without fear of having to throw it away, or buy a new one, or actually being caught by the security at the baggage checks because it's not gas powered like other conventional lighters, but it's totally electrical! It also has a safety function that the fire will auto-turn itself off after 5 seconds of lighting it.Did i also mention that since it's electrically powered, it means it's rechargeable and....

REUSABLE!

That actually means that this lighter may well be the last lighter you ever need to spend money on.It also comes in different varying colors for you to choose from!

Maybe at last, the flame ( of a lighter ) can finally travel..

Thanks for reading!
